About Me

Hello! Thank you for visiting my website. My name is Juliette Verlaque and I am currently pursuing my masters degree at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). During my studies, I plan to focus on national security, conflict management, and refugee issues.

Prior to attending SAIS, I was a program coordinator for PEN America's Artists at Risk Connection (ARC), where I supported persecuted artists from around the world in accessing emergency funding, legal assistance, and other forms of direct support from a global network of arts and human rights organizations.

I graduated from Barnard College of Columbia University in May 2020 with a double major in Political Science and Human Rights.

While at Barnard, I wrote numerous front-page investigative stories as a senior news reporter for the Columbia Daily Spectator.

I also studied abroad in Chile during my junior year and served as a research assistant for a critically acclaimed book about international peacebuilding during my senior year.
